DOWNLOADING & INSTALLING SOFTWARE<\/summary>

DOWNLOADING SOFTWARE<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

If you received a link to our Neuropatholator software, you\u2019ll need to download a ZIP (aka compressed) file, uncompress it, and place the contents on the desktop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don’t have the link anymore, you can find it here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Folder is hosted on DropBox, and when you click the link you’ll see the contents of the VOFolder.  While these files can be downloaded individually if needed, you’ll see a “Download” button in the upper right and corner.  Click this, and you will download the “VOFolder.zip” file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The file you are downloading can be quite large, over 2 gigabytes. How you download it varies from web browser to web browser.  Most of the time, your browser will download it to the computer\u2019s \u201cDownload\u201d folder.  Some will simply open it automatically.  Either way, make sure you open the downloaded ZIP file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the time, your operating system will show you the contents of the ZIP folder like it was a new window.  Sometimes it might ask you if you want to extract it first. Once you see a \u201cVOFolder\u201d, do either of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right click the \u201cVOFolder\u201d and select copy, <\/strong>then goto the Desktop and right click and select paste<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click and drag<\/strong> the \u201cVOFolder\u201d to the Desktop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right Click on the ZIP icon<\/strong> and select: \u201cExtract All\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VIEWING THE NEUROPATHOLATOR CLOUD<\/summary>

The Neuropatholator Cloud<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Neuropatholator Cloud is a online version of the software you can view in a web browser. While it doesn’t have the same amount of sophistication as the windows software, you might prefer the different interface and more streamlined menus.

This also means you can view it on a Mac computer, which the software does not support.

Once you log in, you can bookmark the page for your convenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many web browsers allow you to view pages in full screen. You can do this in browsers settings, often located on the right side of the browser menu. Pressing the little icon on the right will allow you to enter full screen mode. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When opening the Neuropatholator Software on a Mac computer, you might get a message saying it cannot be opened, because it is from an unverified publisher.  This is because it was not downloaded from the App Store. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pressing the Question Mark in the corner should give you instructions on how to fix this.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, going to \u201cSecurity & Privacy\u201d in System Preferences will give you the option to allow our Software to open.  Remember to click the security lock so you can make changes.  Doing this after you try to unlock the software should give you a direct option to allow access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I GET A “Could Not Locate Files” ERROR WHEN OPENING PROGRAM<\/summary>

Program could not locate files<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

After you install our Neuropatholator software, you may receive this message:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, that means the program was not installed correctly. The Neuropatholator program uses the files located within the “VOFolder,” and if it can’t be found, you’ll get this message. It could mean one of several things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1: The Neuropatholator.exe is placed outside the “VOFolder.”<\/strong> Please make sure the program remains in the folder, and if you make a shortcut you don’t accidentally move the actual program to the desktop. Check to see if the icon you’re launching from the deskstop has a shortcut arrow on it, similar to the image below:<\/p>\n\n\n

2: You are launching the program form a Zipped Folder. <\/strong> The “VOFolder” must be extracted from the ZIP file you download. Please check the “VOFolder” noes NOT<\/strong> have a zipper image on it, like the image below.<\/p>\n\n\n

3: If the program is<\/strong> located in a unzipped “VOFolder” and you still get that message, then some files from the folder might be missing. Please check to see if there is a folder named “swfs” and it has files located inside it. It is unlikely this folder is missing, but the missing files is the reason why you see the message. If you are, check your download and copy the folder to the “VOFolder”<\/p>\n\n\n

4: In very rare cases a virus scanner could be blocking the program from reading files from the hard drive. In this case, please attempt to whitelist our software.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n

ONLINE LOGIN INSTRUCTIONS<\/summary>
\n

When first running the Neuropatholator or PopUp software, you\u2019ll see this log in screen.  It\u2019s on this screen where you enter the information we provided for you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The First Time Password only has to be entered once, and you won\u2019t need to enter it again the next time you launch the software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This login process uses \u201ccookies\u201d (tiny bits of data that are used to save variables) on your computer to save the information.  It is possible that a virus protector or even a Windows Update  can delete the \u201ccookies.\u201d  If this happens, you may need to contact us to get a new First Time Password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don\u2019t have access to the internet, you may press the\u201dSkip Password and Run Offline\u201d button to run the software without logging in for up to 3 DAYS<\/strong>.  After those 3 days, you\u2019ll need to login the normal way.  This also resets the 3 day timer if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you still don\u2019t have access to the internet, many smart phones can be used as a wifi hotspot.  You can use this to login and then run offline for 3 days.  Remember to turn off your hotspot afterwards!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you cannot log in:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check your internet connection!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check for spaces at the end of your username and passwords.  This counts as unique character<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make sure you’re not running from a ZIPPED Folder.  Check to see if the VOFolder has a zipper on it.  If it does, unzip the folder to the desktop.  (See “Downloading Software” above)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It might be our fault!  Contact us (via the phone number of E-mail at the bottom of the page) and we’ll double check your information and let you know if there’s been a mistake.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Windows 11: “Search for App in the Store” WARNING<\/summary>
\n

On Windows 11 Machines, you might see this message when opening the software<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a Windows Security message. Programs not downloaded from the Windows Store, or older apps, may get tagged like this if certain features are tuned on. To turn this off, do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to “Windows Security” in windows settings, or search for “Windows Security” in the Windows 11 search bar.<\/li>
  2. Go to “App & Browser Control”<\/li>
  3. Go to “Reputation-based protection settings”<\/li>
  4. Turn off “Check apps and files feature”<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    This should allow the Neuropatholator program to open properly.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    NEUROPATHOLATOR PROGRAM IS MISSING<\/summary>
    \n

    If you can\u2019t locate the \u201cNeuropatholator\u201d software, or the shortcut is invalid\u2026 it\u2019s possible the program was removed by Windows Defender or a 3rd party Virus Protector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you are using a Virus scanner, then that is the most probable suspect.  Some virus scanners will give no warning when they believe a program is dangerous.  They will simply get rid of it with no way to recover it.  Some programs will give a warning, or place the program in a \u201cquarantine\u201d folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You\u2019ll need to find another copy of your Neuropatholaror program.  If we mailed you a DVD,<\/strong> please try and locate it and copy the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you downloaded it via a link<\/strong>, then more than likely you still have our email in your inbox<\/strong>.  Search for visualodsy@aol.com<\/strong> in your email to search for the link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It\u2019s also possible the compressed (ZIP) file is still on your computer.<\/strong>  Check your Downloads folder.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    INSTALLING FROM DVD<\/summary>

    If you received a DVD with the program on it, you\u2019ll need to copy the contents to a folder on the desktop.  Form \u201cMy Computer\u201d open up the DVD drive (often D:\/ Drive) and open it up,. Then either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Right click the \u201cVOFolder\u201d and select copy, <\/strong>then goto the Desktop and right click and select paste<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Click and drag<\/strong> the \u201cVOFolder\u201d to the Desktop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    INSTALLING A DONGLE<\/summary>
    \n

    First off,  Make sure the dongle is Unplugged!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Run the \u201c1_Install_Dongle.exe.\u201d   <\/strong>Select \u201cKEYLOCK 2 (USB w\/ Driver)\u201d<\/strong> under Dongle Type, and \u201cStandalone\u201d<\/strong> under Installation Type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Click \u201cBegin Install\u201d and follow the prompts.  After installation is complete, close the installer and plug in the dongle.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To test if the installation was successful, run the program \u201cVerifyLocalKey.exe\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    Click \u201cVerify Key.\u201d  If successful, you\u2019ll see the serial number of the dongle appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If it fails, repeat the installation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you have a newer computer (Windows 10) but an older version of our \u201cNeuropatholator\u201d program, you may need a new Dongle Driver Installer.  CLICK HERE to download it<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you are still having issues, you can Manually install the drivers by following these instructions.<\/a> This involves command line commands, so maybe leave it to your IT guy! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Chances are we also emailed you 2 files:  \u201cprefs.dat\u201d and \u201csecurity.vo.\u201d <\/strong> These 2 files are needed to run the program. Please download them and place them in the \u201cVOFolder\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    STATUS BAR LOOPING WHEN OPENING NEUROPATHOLATOR<\/summary>
    \n

    The status bar looping when the Neuropatholator is opening often means that something is incorrect or missing.  Please make sure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You are not running from a \u201cZIPed\u201d (aka Compressed)  folder.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Look at the folder and make sure there isn\u2019t a zipper on it.  If there is, you\u2019ll need to extract the contents and place it on the desktop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The \u201cNeuropatholator\u201d program is not being run within the \u201cVOFolder\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The program must be located within the \u201cVOFolder.\u201d  Make sure if you\u2019re creating a shortcut, you don\u2019t accidently move the program to the desktop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You\u2019re missing a prefs.dat file, or it is incomplete.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The file named \u201cprefs.dat\u201d contains many saved preferences, and also includes your \u201cPractice Name\u201d that appears in the program.  If the practice name within this file, and the one stored in the data for the Dongle, don\u2019t match\u2026 the program will not run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Open the program named \u201c2_Enter_Practice_Name.exe<\/strong>\u201d  and make sure there is data there.  If it is blank (or incorrect), try entering the name of your practice.  Since capitalization and spacing matter, you may have to get the exact name directly from us.  Please contact us if that is the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The dongle incorrectly programed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It\u2019s possible the dongle has the incorrect data (or none at all)  stored on it, so it\u2019s not finding any licensing to run.   It is hard to tell if this is the case because it\u2019s all behind the scenes stuff.  If your practice name seems correct (from the previous bullet point), it may be a dongle issue.  Please give us a call and we\u2019ll send you a new \u201cSecurity.vo\u201d<\/strong> file that will reprogram the dongle when the NP program is run.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    NEUROPATHOLATOR WON’T OPEN AT ALL<\/summary>
    \n

    This might not be a problem on most modern computers, but if you\u2019re using a self contained Intel Compute Stick, this might become an issue.  (The Neuropatholator will sometimes create temporary windows files that might not be erased automatically.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This can be easily be fixed by running \u201cdisk clean up\u201d under your C Drive\u2019s Properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    For older software, your operating system might be too new.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    While this isn\u2019t usually an issue, we\u2019ve found that Version 4  and below (and version 5.67) sometimes won\u2019t run on newer computers .<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    ONLINE CHECK FAILED (WHILE PROGRAM IS RUNNING)<\/summary>
    \n
    \"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

    If you are running the Neuropatholator and a message pops up saying \u201cOnline Check Failed\u201d, then one of two things happened:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Your computer lost it\u2019s internet connection or<\/li>
    2. The Neuropatholator could not connect to our server to verify your login details.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      More than likely, your internet was down (or very slow) during one of the programs online checks.  Click  the \u201cRecheck Connection<\/strong>\u201d  to reconnect, and the program should be useable again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      If you lost your internet connection, and you\u2019re not sure when it\u2019ll be back\u2026 close the program (via the X button in the upper right hand corner) and relaunch the Neuropatholator.  Instead of pressing \u201cLog in<\/strong>\u201c, press \u201cSkip Password and Run Offline.<\/strong>\u201d  This will allow the run the program for 3 days without the need to log in.  After 3 days, you must log in again.  See Online Login Instructions <\/strong>above for more information.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

      **Whenever the unit is face down, it should be on a soft padded surface with a hole or cavity for the power switch, so there is no pressure on the switches or the chart front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1) With the unit face up, pull blue & white caps off of switches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      2) Put unit on it\u2019s front, protected by as indicated above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
